The successful road of k-pop is not a coincidence behind this amazing success you will find an army of persons that work so hard to make it happen, from choreographers, producers to stylists.

There are also the musicians who play the beautiful music notes with their instruments to make the sweet melody of the song.

In this interview I’m going to introduce one of those brilliant musicians the guitarist “Lee Chang Woo” who worked with many talented k-pop idols such as “WANNA ONE”, “ERIC NAM”, “PENTAGON”,"JBJ95", “CLC” ,”G-IDLE” and more.

Hello “Mr. LEE CHANG WOO”,

It’s a great pleasure to do this interview with you.

Q1: Can you please introduce yourself to the readers?

Sure, hello everyone! My name is “CHANG WOO”. i am a guitarist, i have been working with producer “FLOW BLOW” and many others. You can hear my guitar playing in many k-pop songs.

Q2: When your love for music started, and when did you start playing the guitar?

Actually, I started as a vocal artist. i loved singing and when i was 15 years old, my father said 'if you want to sing better, you should play a music instrument.

I was part of a school band and i wanted to play the guitar so my father gave me a guitar as a birthday present and ever since then i have always played the guitar, the more i played the guitar the more i liked music.

Q3: Why did you choose to play the guitar and not another instrument?

Well...because of my father... or maybe it’s just because I thought the guitar was cool. Actually, i can also write lyrics and compose songs.

Q4: Are you part of any music band?

Yes i was. But not now, i was in a band called “DOUBLE DECKER”, it’s a charity band for deaf children. So far, they have treated four children with hearing conditions through various fundraising activities.

Q5: What was the first song you recorded it, for which artist was it?

I think it was “Like This” by “PENTAGON”.

Q6: When comes your turn to do the guitar recording in songs?

I usually record my part before the vocal recording. Vocal recording is the last step. Sometimes guitar is the first thing to record if that song's main instrument is the guitar sound.

Q7: Besides playing the guitar do you take any other part in the song making?

Writing lyrics, arranging songs, playing the bass, and background vocal...i think that's all..maybe..hhh?

Q8: When did you start working with k-pop idols?

I think it was when ”FLOW BLOW” started making songs for k-pop idols.

Q9: I see that most of your works are with producer” FLOW BLOW”, how did you met him and how did you start working with him?

“FLOW BLOW” was my classmate and roommate and we are very close. We still live together as roommates.

Q10: How was it working with artists like “ERIC NAM”, “JBJ95” and “WANNA ONE”?

It was very nice. First of all, I liked the songs so much that I could enjoy recording the guitar, the second thing is that I can use my own ideas for the songs because the composers liked it.

Q11: You worked with many other k-pop idols so far, which one of them do you want to collaborate again?

If i have to choose one...i will choose “ERIC NAM”, because I liked “Runaway” so much and I want to play the guitar one more time, i mean..."Runaway" is the best and that’s all I can say [now you should listen to “Runaway” by ”ERIC NAM”]

Q12: The readers should know that “ERIC NAM’s Runaway” is your latest work and I heard that it’s your favorite song this days, why ?

It's just that I love the song. I've been listening to it over and over for no reason. I still listen to it every day. haha.

Q13: Do you have any funny story or memorable moment that happened while recording songs?

When the song “내꺼야 (Nekkoya (Pick Me) ” was released on “Produce 48”, I thought I had recorded the guitar sound for it. I had already told many people. But when I heard the actual song, I couldn't find my guitar sound anywhere. So I asked “ZYRO (FLOW BLOW)”, "Where's my guitar sound?" And he said, "But we didn’t record your guitar for this track?" And I said, "Oh, really? Then what was the song we recorded last time?' And he said, 'Oh, that's another song,' and I was mistaken. After that, people who heard the song asked me. 'Where's your guitar recording?' And I just laughed.

Q14: I can see that you worked with many idols from Cube entertainment (PENTAGON, G-IDLE and CLC), why? I suppose that the group’s members are your friends now ?

Its privacy and it's hard to say, but to tell you one thing, I'm just lucky. I just practice hard every day, I work with a lot of people, and get along with a lot of others, and there are a lot of good people around me. As a result, many good things happened to me naturally. I always thank them.

Q15: If you have to choose only one song from your works which one will you pick?

"JBJ95's Who I Am (좋아해)’'

Q16: I heard that the artist you want to work with is “BTS”, why?

“BTS” is amazing and all their songs are so good. Everyone loves “BTS”, especially my sister. If I work with them, my sister will love it. Of course my family, my friends, everyone will like it too. No, actually I think I'll like it the most.

Q17: Do you have any interest in producing songs?

Well... maybe... my personal album?

Q18: What are your future plans and can we anticipate any new collaboration soon?

I have a plan to release my personal album. It will be an Ep album of three or four of my own songs. I can't say in detail, but I'm working with many other artists. Maybe you'll see it soon.

Q19: Any last words to the readers and to K.V.L (K-pop Video Lovers)?
